PRESS RELEASE: GRAMMY WINNING ELVIS SONGWRITER, DAVID HESS, TO GIVE RARE HOLLYWOOD PERFORMANCE - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13th, 2002

LOS ANGELES--In celebration of his first solo record release in over two decades, on Wednesday, March 13th, 2002, at 8:00 PM, legendary two-time Grammy winning songwriter David Hess will be staging a rare Los Angeles performance at the Genghis Cohen Cantina, (740 North Fairfax @ Melrose, Los Angeles).

In his teenage years during the late 50's and early 60's, David Hess sang and penned a string of top hits, including seven for Elvis Presley, ("All Shook Up," "I Got Stung" (also covered by the Beatles), "Come Along," "Frankie and Johnny," "Speedy Gonzalez," etc.). Later, Hess switched gears, finding success again as a soundtrack composer and as an actor, starring in over 60 films including several Wes Craven cult classics, ("Last House on the Left," "Swamp Thing," etc.).

Hess' brand new CD, entitled "Caught Up In The Moment," marks the first solo release from this legendary songwriter in over two decades. Hess, who currently resides in San Francisco, considers "Caught" to be his musical autobiography, on which he shows himself to be a master storyteller - taking us on a journey from reckless youth to tender fatherly experiences. An expert at his craft, Hess still knows how to write a hit song, and his vocals are nothing less than captivating. Autographed copies of "Caught Up In The Moment" are available online from Hollywood based label Rocket City Records (www.rocketcityrecords.com/davidhess).

Fans of this songwriter and cult movie star will not want to miss Hess' rare "unplugged" performance at the Genghis Cohen Cantina on March 13th at 8:00 PM. Seating is extremely limited and there will be one show only. Hess will perform selections from his new CD as well as some classic hits.
