Bobi has been dubbed "The Quiet Legend" by the press and her peers. She's recorded and performed with The Doors, Joe Cocker, Etta James, and Neil Young to name a few. She played bass on Jimi Hendrix's last recording sessions, was the original and only bassist for The Doors (featured on their demos prior to their first release), played upright bass with the NY Symphony Orchestra at the age of 16, and fronted one of the very first all-female bands in the early 70's. In celebration of this phenomenal talent, Rocket City Records will be recording a long overdue 24-track live blues record and concert video with Bobi Jackson on Thursday August 5th, in the beautiful 500 seat concert hall at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, CA. The album will be entitled "Planet Jackson" and released shortly thereafter. The band consists of cream-of-the-crop professional concert and session players from all over the world.
Local TV audiences will also know Ms. Jackson as the creator, producer and host of weekly Los Angeles TV series, "Living Arts" which uniquely combines art, music, travel and nature. She routinely features a wide variety of exceptional and unusual music from local talents, as well as her own. You can catch "Living Arts" on Media One's Channel 43, every Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
