Bad Biscut is one of those bands who's original brand of rock & roll is truly timeless.  One can envision these guys completely at home in the burgeoning years of punk rock, playing alongside the likes of The Ramones, Runaways, Generation-X or Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars.  On the other hand, these tunes could just as easily top the charts of today.  Fresh, exciting, irreverent, full of humor and ultimately cool - their songwriting is as crafty as their musicianship.  Pegged as "arena-punk" by more than a few of their reviewers, they've had the opportunity to wow several arena crowds as the opening act for Joan Jett, The Ramones, and Bon Jovi - and also enjoyed a stint as a fave MTV band, winning their "Highway to Fame" contest and receiving considerable airplay.  Their debut CD, "The American Dream?" is available for licensing and highly recommended by Rocket City Records. A five star recording!  ...And by the way, bandleader and bassist Keith Roth is also the host of the hottest radio program on the East Coast, "The Electric Ballroom", which airs every Sunday evening on WRAT & WDHA, plus on the web at WRAT.com.

What the critics say:

  • BAD BISCUT "THE AMERICAN DREAM" - by Bill Glahn - Live! Magazine

  • Bad Biscut tread the same musical ground as bands like Green Day and Ugly Kid Joe, an area I'll call arena-punk.  It's all up-tempo stuff with a healthy dose of attitude, but an unmistakably produced sound and presentation.  What separates Bad Biscut from the rest is that they really don't seem to take themselves so seriously and much of the fun is poked at themselves.

But it's the guitar riffs that really push the band past mere indie wanna-be's.  Guitarist Tommy Tafaro is the Angus Young of arena-punk. You know you've heard every lick before, but there's still something distinctive about his execution.  The "eternal brat" mentality is all over the packaging.  The cover, (designed by graphic artist and lead vocalist Thom Sacco), makes a statement - but not too dramatically.  It is a painting of the Statue of Liberty nailed to a cross.

It could be a frightening image, but it's done in a style closer to Mad Magazine than to Dante's Inferno.  Serious subjects are approached in the lyrics, but mostly in a talk show fashion.  Singer Thom Sacco delivers all this with a Bon Scott-style sneer and bratty impudence. You can't help but like this band!

  • LET'S GO! The Ramones & Bad Biscut at the Tradewinds  - by Al Metzer - ECR Magazine

  • Leather jacketed devotees - stage diving, slam dancing - a frothing frenzy, and that was just for the opening band Bad Biscut!  Melodic, aggressive, tuneful and LOUD!  Bad Biscut cajoled, goaded and rocked the audience hard!

  • BON JOVI PLEASES GRANDSTAND - by Mark Biaiczak - The Post Standard

  • Opener Bad Biscut looked extremely happy opening for Bon Jovi, but they sounded a lot more like neo-punk sensations. They were fast and loud on original numbers "Can't Get Rid of You" and "Annoying Little Brat", but they sounded best on their finale: a racy version of the Beatles' "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"

  • JETT AND HER SNARL A HIT AT  BIRCH HILL - by Chris Jordan - Music Review

  • The Jersey Shore-based band Bad Biscut opened the show - It's refreshing to see a band oblivious to the alternative rock monolith and they genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves on stage.  They have several catchy songs!

  • POP IN JERSEY - by Jay Lustig - The Star Ledger

  • Bad Biscut provided another exciting set.  The band belongs to the same tradition that has produced such acts as Guns and Roses and Skid Row, but adds something neither of those bands has: a rhythm section that plays with the manic, spring-like propulsion of a band like The Ramones. Coincidentally, the band opened for The Ramones the night before, and paid tribute to the event with a credible cover of the Ramones' "Blitzkrig Bop". The whole set, in fact, had a lot in common with a typical Ramones show: It was fun, bursting with energy, a bit crass and totally lacking in seriousness.  If that's not a winning formula for a band these days, I don't know what is!

  • BAD BISCUT GIVES ROCK A RUDE AWAKENING WITH DEBUT ALBUM "THE AMERICAN DREAM?"

  • Admit it, you're getting tired of smashing candleboxes and counting melons, aren't you?  Don't you miss the days when rock was loud, crude, subversive, obnoxious and more fun than the thought of Britney Spears in a mosh pit?  Well, fasten your seat belts, because from straight out of New Jersey comes the best thing to happen to rock since the invention of the Marshall stack - Bad Biscut and their debut album The American Dream?

Bad Biscut (Groman - Drums/ Tom Tafaro - guitars/ Keith Roth - Bass/ Thom Sacco - Vocals) are destined to provide a sorely needed wake-up call to a scene that's been lulled into a mid-tempo stupor.  Given a BEST BAND award by the Aquarian Weekly, the NY/NJ metro area's biggest music newspaper, they've also been hailed in the pages of High Voltage, Kerrang, Metal Hammer  & Metal Edge magazines.

Produced by Tom Allom (who put Judas Priest on the map), and Ben Elliott (Nirvana, Henry Rollins), Bad Biscut are scheduled to be the Next Big Thing...so look out world, here comes the Biscut!
