Andras Jones is a one man entertainment rebellion. Since 1989 he has recorded 8 CD's (3 solo and 5 with his band, The Previous) and started an independent music "union" called The City Limits which puts out his CD's and helps other artists book tours and put out their own CD's. When he isn't on the road he sometimes hosts Radio 8-Ball, a radio show in his hometown of Olympia, Washington on community radio station, KAOS. His latest CD, "A Curmudgeon For All Seasons" a collection of anti-holiday songs, is currently in rotation at radio stations around the country and is available for license from Rocket City Records. (Listen to samples below!)If that's not enough, he has also managed to keep a film career on slow burn since his first film appearance in the 1988 cult classic, "Sorority Babes in The Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama". His contributions to American cinema since then have included being drugged and kidnapped by David Warner, making love to Jennifer Jason-Leigh, boxing with Freddy Krueger, being scolded by Hayley Mills, and initiating Drew Barrymore into cinematic adulthood as the benefactor of her first screen kiss. If all that won't build character, nothing will. AJ insists he does it just for the cash, so that he can keep putting out his records his way without record company meddling but we think he has fun prancing around Hollywood in his underpants. AJ's latest film "The Attic Expeditions" co-stars Seth Green and is due to be released some time in the coming year. AJ spent last summer acting, singing, and even dancing in "The Transfused" a punk rock-opera by Nomy Lamm and The Need. The soundtrack is currently available from Yo-Yo Records.
Over the years Andras has performed with a veritable who's who of indie (and now not so indie) artists. AJ's songs have appeared in the soundtracks to over 10 feature films and have been covered by artists around the world.
